Airtightness for Zaha Hadid-Designed Bee’ah Headquarters
Bee’ah Headquarters in Sharjah, UAE, designed by the legendary Zaha Hadid Architects, stands as a paragon of innovation and sustainability. Its iconic dune-inspired design required exacting construction quality, and Salimus played a pivotal role in achieving this contracted by Al Futtaim Construction, Salimus leveraged its expertise in airtightness and smoke leakage testing to identify and rectify construction issues, ensuring the building met its operational and sustainability goals.
Collaborative Expertise in Action
Salimus was brought on board to perform detailed airtightness and smoke investigations across key areas of the headquarters. Utilizing advanced tools like Retrotec blower doors, digital gauges, and smoke generators, the team conducted thorough testing in compliance with ASTM Standard E1186.
The process identified minor leaks interfaces such as plenum walls, duct junctions, and mechanical penetrations.
Identifying and Rectifying Issues
Salimus worked closely with Al Futtaim Construction to ensure every issue was resolved promptly. Leakage points were documented with video and visual annotations, allowing contractors to address problems efficiently. Subsequent re-tests confirmed that all issues were resolved, delivering an airtight building envelope aligned with the highest standards of performance.
Supporting Sustainable Innovation
By eliminating leaks and enhancing airtightness, Salimus contributed significantly to the energy efficiency of Bee’ah Headquarters. This effort not only supported the building’s operational sustainability but also upheld the architectural integrity envisioned by Zaha Hadid Architects.
Salimus is proud to have partnered with Al Futtaim Construction on this iconic project, showcasing how precise Engineering and Collaboration can bring visionary designs to life.
